We will go in-depth into body percussion to work on rhythm, control over tempo, listening ability, expressiveness, coordination and creating as a group. Clapping, tapping your feet and clicking your fingers are typical in many types of traditional music from around the world: during the course we will explore different rhythmic systems and techniques such as polyrhythms, crosspulses and phasing.

We will try a number of different Brazilian and Latin American musical games using everyday objects such as spoons, table tennis balls and buckets, combining originality and creativity with tradition, and with the involvement of dance. Through the use of games, we will assimilate aspects of music theory, learn to recreate these activities in our everyday lives and acquire the tools to invent our own musical games.
